We are currently looking for a PA or NP to join our inpatient neurology team. Experience is preferred.

Key Clinical Responsibilities:

  1. Assesses physical and psychosocial health status of patient and family by taking health histories and conducting comprehensive physical examinations.
  2. Orders appropriate diagnostic/screening tests to evaluate patients current health status.
  3. Formulates diagnosis and implements treatment plan to manage acute illness and stable chronic illness consulting with and making a referral to physician colleagues and other health care providers as indicated.
  4. Consults and collaborates with a department physician, APP or appropriate specialist to plan and manage the care for patients with unstable or complex acute or chronic illness. Facilitates transfer of patient to the primary care physician when the complexity of care exceeds scope of practice.
  5. Prescribes and/or dispenses medication.
  6. Provides patient education with emphasis on the promotion of health and wellness and the prevention of illness and disability.
  7. Provides guidance and counseling for both individuals and families.
  8. Demonstrates patient advocacy that ensures the patients right to privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent.
  9. Serves as a mentor for new APPs, nursing students, and department nursing staff.
  10. Assumes responsibility to renew APRN or PA license in a timely manner and maintain DEA registration.
  11. Attends continuing education programs to ensure ongoing professional growth and development to meet licensure requirements.
  12. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
  • National specialty certification as FNP or ANP or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRN only)
  • Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
  • BLS certification
